Built by someone who has been obsessed with technology since before most people knew what a computer was.
I grew up in New York chasing high scores on an Atari 2600 and burning quarters in the arcades at Sunrise Mall. Then in August 1982, the Commodore 64 arrived — and it changed everything. I wasn't just playing with technology. I was taking it apart, pushing it past its limits, and teaching myself how it all worked from the inside out. That obsession never left me.
My first real job at Radio Shack lit another fire in me. I watched customers get gouged for repairs they couldn't afford — and I couldn't stand it. I started fixing machines on the side, at a fair price. One customer became ten. Ten became twenty-five. By age 20, I had my own IT consulting business built entirely on word of mouth, quality work, and honest pricing. I ran it for over a decade. I wasn't the cheapest — but I was the best. And my clients knew it.
While my consulting business was growing, I took on another challenge — managing one of the highest-volume Software Etc stores in the company, the brand that became GameStop. Running a high-volume retail operation through the 90s and into the 2000s taught me leadership, accountability, and what it takes to build a team that performs under pressure. Those lessons became the foundation of how I run every operation today.
After 15 years in enterprise IT — supporting Lowe's, ATD, and Trane Technologies — and working alongside one of Charlotte's premier MSPs, my family and I moved to Mississippi. What I found here was the same thing that frustrated me at Radio Shack and Staples all those years ago: good businesses and everyday users were being underserved and overcharged. I had the experience, the stack, and a standard I've never compromised on. So I built Synaptex IT. We don't answer to shareholders. We answer to you.
